If you were hoping for a revolution at MWC 2026, keep dreaming. Lenovo just pulled the curtain back on its latest ThinkPad lineup, and while the marketing team is calling it a “refresh,” your bank account might call it a shakedown. With entry-level workhorses now creeping toward the $2,000 mark, the “business standard” is becoming a luxury.
The T-Series: New Paint, Same Old Story?
The legendary T-Series, the laptops currently sitting on every corporate desk in America, is getting a facelift. The big “innovation” here? A 5MP camera with computer vision and a new color called “Cosmic Blue.” The T14 Gen 7 and T16 Gen 5 are the stars of the show, starting at a whopping $1,799. To Lenovo’s credit, they’ve leaned into sustainability with a 10/10 iFixit repairability score. Under the hood, you’re looking at the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen AI Pro 400 chips.
If you want to save your shoulder, the T14s Gen 7 drops the weight to a record 2.45 lbs, but it raises the price to $1,899. Meanwhile, the T14s 2-in-1 ($1,849) finally adds a “garaged” pen slot above the screen, a convenient fix for a problem that probably shouldn’t have existed this long.
Chasing the Surface Pro
Lenovo is also taking another shot at the detachable market with the ThinkPad X13 Detachable. Priced at $1,999, it’s clearly aimed at the Surface Pro crowd. It boasts:
- Up to 64GB of RAM.
- A 13-inch, 500-nit display.
- A keyboard with “real” 1.5mm key travel (because typing on glass is still a nightmare).
- A full-sized ergonomic pen that charges inside the keyboard.

The Rugged Android Outlier
In a move that feels like it’s for a very specific niche, the ThinkTab X11 is a $499 rugged Android tablet. It’s built like a tank (MIL-STD-810H certified) and powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. If you work in a warehouse or a construction site, this might be the only “affordable” thing in the catalog.

When Can You Buy Them?
Most of this hardware, including the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 ($1,754), will start shipping in Q2 2026. If you have your eye on that X13 Detachable, you’ll have to wait until Q3.
